final paper making reflection

For this paper I have used cotton Fabriano paper, gelatine and coffee in order to create a textured, thick and dyed paper. During the process of making this paper I realised that my screen was way too stretchy for me to use properly, but, not having the time to make a new deckle and mould I had to push forward with this. I circumvented this issue by way of pressing out the paper into the desired thickness rather than moulding it traditionally, I used a roller to roll out the pulp into a thinner layer between pieces of felt and roughly used that to shape it together.

it was, for all intents and purposes, being held together by hopes, prayers and cooking gelatine.

but it fucking worked, and when the paper dried I thought it looked a bit like a ryvita cracker, however despite this the paper was semi flexible being able to be folded and so I trimmed and cut the usable pieces and used this to print on my design for my front cover
