reflection on printing

For the poems I used a really thin 40gsm Japanese gambi paper which has a good tensile strength but still remains transparent. I wanted for these to hang in front of my prints so that you would be able to see the prints as a back drop to the text. however i forgot that the letter press letters had to be a certain size so these wouldn't look quite right in front of the much smaller prints.

I went to the paper shop, shepherds, in Victoria and I loved to talk with the people there about their history with graphic design, print making and paper making. I learned a lot talking to them and am excited to go back soon and show them my designs and how well the paper held up under neath the letter press, even I was quite suprised it didnt rip.
